The National Commission on Disability (NDC) on Thursday last opened its doorsAn NCD staff uses sign language to communicate the pictures on the wall to some deaf visitors.to the public in its first ever “Open Day” activity which according to officers was designed to sensitize and educate persons about the purpose and objectives of the institution that is pro-active for the rights of the disabled.The organizers, volunteers and officers of the semi-governmental institution staged an informative and enriching exhibition that gave stakeholders the opportunity to learn more about the NDC and its work.As visitors walked into the organization’s headquarters, which is located at 49, Croal Street Stabroek, they were greeted with warm smiles of grateful persons who thanked those present for taking the time off to learn more about those who are physically less fortunate.The “open day” activities comprised of a photographic exhibition, displaying the work and progress the institute was able to accomplish since its commissioning 15 years ago. The staffers who were mostly persons living with disabilities themselves, conducted tours of the premises and were enthusiastically engaged in lively discussions on disability related matters.Visitors were introduced to different sections of the display which included the project corner,Cheap Nike Shoes Online Shopping, donations corner, the accessibility corner and the achievement corner,Wholesale Air Jordan, which was the most inspiring. The organization was proud to highlight the achievements of some of its members who were able to achieve academically and were employed by different organizations across the country.
